8 - how God views human beings
Deuteronomy 32 :
9. For the Lord's portion is His people; Jacob is the place of His inheritance.
10. "He found him in a desert land and in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye.
NKJV
These verses, spoken by the prophet Moses, give us a picture of how God views human beings. We can see from what Moses says how involved God is and wants to be with us.
Moses points out that when God found us, we were in a desert land, in a howling wilderness, going nowhere fast.
Moses tells us that God's people are His portion or inheritance in the earth.
An inheritance is something precious, something of great value. It is treated with great care and we don't let go of it at all, if possible. That is how God feels about us, when we put our trust in Him.
We are precious and of great value.
He takes great care of us and does not let us go unless, we deliberately, in sober mind, tare ourselves away from Him - a very painful process for both parties.
So let this sense of your worth in God's eyes stay with you today and always.
This is why we can be sure that He is faithful - because He is faithful to us - always!
Prayer:
Father, today I am overwhelmed by Your faithfulness!
I am overwhelmed by the fact that I am precious to You and of great value in your estimation.
Thank You for Your care of me and thank You for holding me always. Thank You for never wanting to let me go.
This is almost too wonderful to believe!
I am totally awed by You,
Amen.
